Nearly 2000 defense officers who had bought homes in a BPTP project in Gurgaon were facing a delay of 4 years to get possession of their houses. To seek justice, the defense officers took to the court and produced all the evidences relevant to the case. The hearing in the National Consumer Redressal Commission, which is the apex body of the Consumer Court, is scheduled on February 29.
Apart from this, the officers have also reached out to the Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner. The Commissioner addressed the issue stating that any delay beyond a year is not a case of just delay, but a case of cheating by the builder. The builders were approached and informed to grant possession in the next 40 days. The Deputy Commissioner of Gurgaon would personally look into the matter and take control over the project after the completion of the prescribed period.
BPTP told the buyers that they have received funding from two other projects which they have managed to sell off. The officials are going to channelize these funds towards the completion of the project and the clearance of their previous debts. However, the buyers claim that the work has not commenced till date. They’re now counting on the current proceedings to get their promised homes as soon as possible.
